Boulder Wall Built to Hold a Roundabout Driveway

Boulder Wall Built to Hold a Roundabout Driveway image

This one had a big vision from the start. The goal was to create a raised, retained surface that wraps a roundabout driveway - leaving plenty of room for planter beds and serious curb appeal once it's all said and done.

Boulder walls are one of our favorite ways to solve a grade problem. You get the structural hold you need, but instead of a plain concrete block wall, you end up with something that actually looks like it belongs on the property. These granite boulders are massive, and placing them right takes patience and the right equipment to get them locked in tight.

The key to a wall like this isn't just stacking rocks. It's reading how each stone sits, finding the face that works, and making sure every piece ties back into the one behind it. That's what keeps a wall standing for decades instead of shifting and settling after a few winters.

With the wall taking shape along the front of the home, you can already see how it's going to frame the whole entry. The raised area behind it gives the homeowner a clean, level space to work with - perfect for planters, landscaping features, or whatever they have in mind for finishing it out. Big rocks, big result.
