Every wall starts with the site, not the stone. We evaluate soil type, existing drainage patterns, wall height, and what’s loading the wall from above, then build accordingly — proper base preparation, compacted foundation, drain rock and pipe behind the wall, geogrid reinforcement where height and soil conditions call for it, and precise placement course by course. Walls that fail almost always fail from water or a bad base. Ours don’t skip either. We work with hand-selected natural basalt and granite boulders for a rugged, native look, or engineered block systems when you want clean lines and consistent geometry. Taller walls are built to engineered plans and county permit requirements, and we coordinate with structural engineers when a project calls for it.
